Teatro guiñol / Puppet theater

Hoy les quiero compartir este proyecto que hicimos entre mi hermana y yo. Tenemos unos sobrinitos lindísimos y sus papás se están separando, así que están teniendo días difíciles y queríamos hacer algo para mimarlos y cuándo compramos una silla, la caja en la que venía embalada resultó ser un gran tesoro. Mi hermana siempre se ha llevado bien con el cartón y yo con las telitas, así que unimos nuestros esfuerzos para hacerles este pequeño obsequio. Aún no se los hemos dado, pero espero que les guste mucho y los ayude a olvidarse un poco de sus problemas.

Today I want to share this project made by my sister and me. We have some lovely little nephews and their parents are separating, so they are having difficult days and we wanted to do something to pamper them and when we bought a chair, the box in what it came packed turned out to be a great treasure. My sister has always gotten along with cardboard and I do well with fabrics, so we joined our efforts to make this little gift. We have not yet given it to them, but I hope they'll enjoy it and help them forget a little about their problems.Esta es la foto del antes.

Los otros dos / The other two

Estos son los otros dos bloques que van en camino a Florida para formar parte de la colcha del proyecto de la República Centroafricana. El crazy lo hizo mi hermana y el appliqué yo. Espero que gusten mucho y que ayuden a recaudar mucho dinero para la causa. Nosotras realmente disfrutamos el hacerlos.

These are the other blocks that are on their way to Florida to become part of the quilt for the CAR proyect. The crazy was made by my sister and the applique by me. I hope they like them and help to raise a lot of money for the cause. We really enjoy making them.

2° Bloque terminado/ 2nd block finished

Hoy mi hermana terminó su primer bloque para el Proyecto Global de Quilting al que nos invitaron. Aquí se los pongo para que lo vean. El loro está pintado a mano y es de estilo prehispánico porque quería que se notara dónde se había hecho ese bloque. Todo está hecho a mano. Tengan un lindo fin de semana.

Today my sister finished her first block for the Global Quilting Proyect that we were invited to. Here I attached the picture so you can see it. The parrot is hand painted and it is prehispanic style because she wanted to be noted where this block was made. Everything is hand made. Have a lovely weekend.

Aquí les pongo la foto del primero de los dos bloques con los que voy a contribuir en el proyecto global de quilting del que les platiqué. Cosiendo por una buena causa/ Sewing for a good cause

¡Hola que tal! Pues hoy les escribo para contrles que ayer recibí un correo invitándome a participar en este bonito evento.
Lo impulsa Global Change ME. una organización sin fines de lucro ubicada en Florida que se dedica a proveer de agua potable y saneamiento básico a personitas en extrema pobreza alrededor del mundo. Lo único que tienes que hacer es envíar un bloque de patchwork, ya sea de 12" x 12" ó de 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" (medidas con las costuras incluidas) y ellos lo convertirán en quilts que subastarán. Y todo lo recaudado será utilizado para construir dos letrinas (una para niños y otra para niñas) en una escuela en Africa Central. Así que cito lo que dice en su página:

"El quilt reflejará el mensaje de que cuando nuestros esfuerzos son independientes pueden parecer insignificantes, pero cuando los unimos podemos hacer una diferencia en las vidas de nuestros vecinos en todo el mundo."

Todo comenzará con los dos blques de las fotos que irán al centro del quilt hechos por mujeres en África Central. ¿Que dicen también se animan?

Hi there! Well today I am writing to tell you that yesterday I received an email inviting me to participate in this beautiful event. Global Change. Me is a non profit organization based in Florida that is dedicated to provide safe water and basic sanitation to people in extreme poverty around the world.



All you have to do is send a patchwork block, either 12 "x 12" or 9 1 / 2 "x 9 1 / 2" (measured with the seams included) and they turn into quilts to be auctioned. And all profit will be used to build two latrines (one for boys and one for girls) in a school in Central Africa. So I quote what it says on their page:

"The quilt will reflect the message that when our efforts stand alone they may seem insignificant but as we join together we can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors around the world. "

Everything will start with the blocks showed in the photos made by Central Africa women that will be placed in the middle of the quilt. Would you like to help?
